There is no difference in the actual instrument. Bagpipes are very popular in both cultures. The uniforms and choice of songs are the most obvious differences. Some people may prefer the traditional uilleann pipes which some consider to be more of an Irish sounding instrument.

Yes, we can supply a guitar/vocalist to perform a song(s) of your choice at an Irish funeral service and also at the graveside. Seán Brady is one of most popular choices and performs nationwide.

The Fields of Athenry, Danny Boy, Amazing Grace and The Irish National Anthem are the most popular. At Scottish Funerals; Flowers of the Forest and The Flower of Scotland are firm favourites.

Yes, we can arrange that for you at the time of booking. 

Once we’ve found a suitable act, we’ll provisionally book them for you and issue a written agreement outlining all confirmed terms, including fee and timings. This is subject to your approval. Once approved, please sign and return the agreement within 7 days (or sooner).

A deposit of around 25% is required, with the remaining balance payable either 48 hours before the event or in cash to the act on the day. In some cases, full payment may be required in advance.

Our preferred payment method is bank transfer, and details will be included in your paperwork. For deposits, we can also accept card or PayPal payments online or over the phone and in some cases (subject to the approval of the act you book) balances and full payment.

Bank transfer via our business account is the most popular method of payment. We can also accept payments (for deposits only) using credit or debit card via phone or via PayPal. Most clients prefer to pay in full prior to the event but in some cases the balance can be paid in cash on the day to the act.

Most fees are fully inclusive. Sometimes an additional fee may apply where exceptional travel time and distance is involved. This will always be included in any quote at the time of enquiry and stated clearly in any contract and subject to your agreement.

There’s no set time, but it’s best to book up as far ahead as possible. We do however, often arrange performances at short notice.

All of our pipers are fully experienced at performing at Catholic funeral services and in most cases an Irish funeral mass would be held at a Catholic church.

Absolutely. Many services are held at crematorium chapels which are non denominational and will often be without any religious involvement. We cater for all faiths.

Yes, this is quite a common request. Playing a few tunes at the cemetery leading in the hearse and also playing at the graveside is a very popular option with many of our clients.

No. Our percentage is already included in the overall fee.

If you cancel your booking, in most cases there will be a fee involved. This fee would depend on the period of time between that date a booking is made and the actual contracted performance date. Full details on cancellation fees can be found here.
